Banarasi Lehengas

Few fabrics carry as much history as Banarasi silk. Woven in Varanasi for centuries, it is known for rich texture and gold and silver zari worked into the weave itself. At Herpret Couture, we pair traditional Banarasi weaves with couture tailoring and hand-embroidered finishing.

Our Banarasi designs

  • Sehr: emerald green Banarasi silk with hand-embroidered borders
  • Rani: fuchsia Banarasi silk edged in gota and zari
  • Naaz: purple-magenta Banarasi silk with a shimmering gold tissue dupatta

The Gulabi lehenga pairs a fuchsia lehenga with a Banarasi dupatta, if you'd like a touch of Banarasi rather than a full look.

When to wear Banarasi

Banarasi lehengas suit the sangeet, mehndi, engagement and reception, and they are a timeless choice for family and guests. Some brides also choose Banarasi for an intimate or traditional ceremony.
